Default P55M-UD2 PS /2 Mouse

I'm looking at a new machine with the P55M-UD2.

I'm a bit confused about the keyboard / mouse pS /2 port.

Does it accept EITHER a keyboard OR a mouse

Can you get some sort of splitter and connect both ?

The reason I'm asking is that I've got a KVM switch with PS /2 connectors
and I'd REALLY like to be able to get it to work !

There are plenty of USB ports of course , but I don't know if it would work
if I just got some PS/2 USB adapters and forgot the PS 2 port all together
?

Any ideas , comments most welcome !

Thanks

It is possible to design a PS/2 mouse port such that it can be split,
and the splitters that support this are readily available and
inexpensive (under $10, sometimes under $5). However, not all PS/2
ports do support this ... the port has to be designed specifically to
enable such support. I do not know about your particular hardware, I
can only suggest that you get a splitter and try it.
