So, how do I remove it? The link? It's just a matter of unscrewing screws till the weight is out. Sorry, Dave, didn't read. I weighed the 510 and it's 120g (which means the batteries were taking up 50g or nearly a third of the total weight) and the weight is only 13.5g (according to the article) does it really make that much difference? "That much" is relative, it made no sense to me to push around an extra weight constantly unless you just wanted the exercise? |

I've got large hands though, that might make a difference. -- 1989 - The movie "Batman," notches $100 million in 10 days, proving once and for all that the public can't get enough of men in tights. |

I move mine with only thumb and ring finger, minimal to no wrist movement at all. That does require a fairly high DPI sensitive mouse though... but these days all that means is anything better than Logitech's cheapest/lowest optical series. |

I am still using a cordless ball for this reason cuz I game a lot. Yes opticals are accurate if you don't move em too quick. To avoid dust and gum on the ball, buy a 3M mousing surface. I haven't cleaned my ball (singular) for 3 years and there's no gum on the rollers when I checked. An optimal mousing surface can help anyone, though modern optical tech (like Logitech MX series) has made great strides to reduce the "flinging" problem you mention. Comparing a 3 year old basic Logitech 400DPI mouse to an MX, they're quite a bit more accurate and less prone to jump around. |
