XP Pro on Asus P4C800
There are some know issued with 875P chipset relating to memory timing and
it could be one of these. You don't state which memory your are using but try adjusting your timings to 2-3-3-6 and then give it a try. I should point out this applies to all 875 chipsets and not just Asus. Hope this helps. Also you may want to try taking a look at www.abxzone.com , as a lot of good advice can be got from here. Andrew "Darth Elvis" wrote in message ... XP Pro on Asus P4C800 Hi, I'm installing XP Pro on my brand news PC which consists of a Asus P4C800, Intel Pentium 4 3Ghz, 1 Gb RAM and a Asus V9950 GeForce XP 5900. During the install I get errors saying that certain files cannot be copied and later on I get several STOP error. I did some troubleshooting by removing every PCI device, disabling the other CD-ROM players and by removing one 512 MB memory module. I also disabled hyperthreading in the BIOS. Do you have any hints on what to try next? It's bloody rediculous XP won't install on a brandnew high-end machine!!! Thanks, Darth Elvis |
