Sempron 2400+ runs at 1.67GHz, should be 2000MHz?
According to this cpu chart here http://www.amdboard.com/amdid.html, the
Sempron 2400+ should run at 2000MHz. Every monitoring tool I've used says it's running at 1.67GHz. Is the chart wrong? Is there something special I have to do to get it to run at the advertised speed? I'm running this in a Foxconn K7S741GXMG-6L board. Win2000. |

The Athlon 2400+ runs default at 2000MHz. If you want your Sempron to run faster than the default, you have to increase the FSB speed or increase the multiplier, or both. If you provide the actual part # on the chip and the 4 digit date code in the last line of the label I can give you some kind of idea of your options. There is nothing on the chart that indicates it doesn't apply to semprons and durons. Dang...you are correct, I found the Sempron chart. It shows it as 1.67GHz |
