Default Gamma Adjust

Hi guys I am running a new fx5600 128mb card on windows xp with the 44.03
drivers but I notice on a lot of the games and even the benchmark 3d mark
the screen is quite dark and I was wondering if there was a way of altering
the brightness or gamma what ever it is to make the screen a little bit
brighter. I know some of the games have gamma correction but not all so can
I do it from windows xp. by the way my monitor refresh res is set at 60mhz
and I don't know if that make a difference or not, should it be higher or
wont that effect the gamma

cheers Dave

you can run RivaTuner or PowerStrip and adjust the gamma. RivaTuner is free
and not quite as elegant and PowerStrip is shareware with a nag screen but
can be used to set up auto profiles when games are launched for color,
resolution, card performance (overclocking and such) and gamma.

I would put the monitor refresh at 85 Hz and you can even set the driver to
override the default of 60 Hz in many games...

Download the free,"Rivatuner",
http://www.guru3d.com/rivatuner/
Have it load on bootup.
run it.
Main/Driver settings/Customize/Customize Desktop and Overlay settings.
Make a gamma corrected brightness say 2.2 and choose the save Icon but
give the scheme a name say
gamma1
Make another one but reset to defaults and save as
Def1
Now go back to the Main Tab/Launcher and make Launcher profiles with
the + sign(add) and give this the same names as the two you have made
but edit each one so it launches the colour scheme and in the Shortcut
key box I use Crtl+1 for my gamma1 and Ctrl+2 for my Def1.
Anytime I want the gamma settings up I use the key combos and in the
Launcher you can even set it to run the specific game if you like with
a custom gamma for that game.

not mentioned really in RT's help how to do it :/
