Wireless mouse & keyboard
I'm looking for a replacement for my current wireless keyboard & mouse.
I need a multi-media type with volume control, one which has a decent range, a nice feel to it and a five button mouse. My present one is 27Mhz and regularly fails to receive key presses despite it only being a couple of feet from the receiver - am I right in thinking the 2.4Mhz ones have a better more reliable range? Any recommendations? -- Regards, Harry (M1BYT) (L) http://www.ukradioamateur.co.uk |

Wireless mouse & keyboard - I got one!

Any recommendations? 2.r Mhz may play h*ll with your wifi if signal levels are low. 2.4Mhz did play hell with the WiFi connection, but only if the USB keyboard dongle was plugged in very close to (a front USB port) the built in WiFi receiver. Plugged in around the back it didn't seem to make much difference, but it seems it might depend on the channel selected for your WiFi. The mouse would sometimes freeze for a short time, but I have now traced that problem to the dongle being close to where I put my mobile phone on charge. The 2.4Mhz keyboard and mouse set I ended up with was the A4TECH GK-770D. A model which had been on 27Mhz and was redesigned for 2.4Ghz and at the same price. I paid just £15 for it or about $30. Range is extremely good, no more missed keys or the mouse pointer rampaging around the screen. They seem able to communicate over a good 6m through a brick wall. The keyboard buttons seem a little odd, in that they feel as if they aren't very positive compared to my old one - but I'll probably get used to that. The browser Back & Forward buttons on the mouse do not work at all -I'm still working on that. -- Regards, Harry (M1BYT) (L) http://www.ukradioamateur.co.uk |
