Default Bootup GeForce MX 440 uses TV out even when I don't have a tv attached.

My monitor keeps going Blank, this appears to be because the card is using
TV-out as the display instead of my monitor. I don't have a TV attached so
you can imagine how difficult this was to diagnose.

At present I have the display monitor working ok on win xp, but it only
appears after XP has fully booted, so I don't have any chance to boot in
safe mode etc.

I can see the boot screens only if I attach a TV.

How can I disable the TV-out and force all output to my monitor,
particularly before my OS win-xp has booted.

I'm using driver version 4.5.2.3
