Xerox Workcentre 940M XP Communication Problems
I have a Xerox Workcentre 940M printer and it worked fine using
Windows 98. I recently upgraded my machine and it has Windows XP Pro. I downloaded the most recent drivers and followed the installation. The communication tests all failed. I can print if I change the port on the printer to use the USB virtual printer instead of the Xerox thing. Scanning and the communication monitor however, still doesn't work and reports communication errors. I have: * Spent hours removing all references to the registry after uninstalling the printer. Deleted all the files on the system refering to the driver and Xerox stuff. Reinstalled the XP driver, which insists on using the original 940M CD. Same exact problem. * Tried the thing with a completely different USB cable and different USB ports * Tried it on a notebook also running XP. Is anyone using the 940M printer AND scanner with XP successfully? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. John Marchioli |
