My XP system will not run an MSI installer....
I am trying to install VoxAtc on my XP Pro PC. The downloaded
installed is a WIndows .MSI package. When I click it, it fails to run, Windows says the Windows Installer service was not found. It is kind of strange that they have a MSI installer rather than the usual type setup.exe file. |

Try upgrading your Windows Installer. It's easier to just update the installer than to fiddle around with it's settings which is most likely the cause of your issue. By upgrading the Windows Installer the settings will default and you should be able to run .msi files properly. 'Here's a link to version 3.1 of Windows Installer' (http://tinyurl.com/6camd). Hope this helps |

Did that, but I still get the same message that the WIndows Installer
could not be accessed. Regards, Geronimo. On Sat, 1 Mar 2008 10:07:34 -0500, "Dave" wrote: "geronimo" wrote in message .. . probably should also mention that the Windows version is SP2. Normally it would be set to "manual". -- Michael Cecil http://macecil.googlepages.com/index.htm http://macecil.googlepages.com/safehex.htm http://macecil.googlepages.com/hackingvista.htm |

I reinstalled WIndows Installer with the latest version, however I got
the same message: "the Windows Installer could not be accessed". Strange. On Sat, 1 Mar 2008 16:20:55 -0600, Animenia wrote: Try upgrading your Windows Installer. If you go to "My Computer", "Tools", "Folder Options", "File Types" do you have a "MSI" as a file extension in the window? And if so does it show 'Windows Installer Package" ? |
