Default any experience with Soyo SY-K7VME mobo?

The Soyo SY-K7VME motherboard is on rebate specials seemingly
everywhere. Has anybody got any experience running this board?

My experience with a VIA chipset board had been very unsatisfactory. I
had a Syntax mobo with a Via chipset in it (the Syntax 8601a) and I couldn't
play DVDs with it, sound was horribly choppy, performance was very bad. That
was part of a barebones offer too - with PowMax mATX case. I still have the
case, but replaced the board, RAM, CPU and added a video card to get a nice
system. I went pure Intel the second time around.

I'm kinda leary of the "cheap" barebones systems now after my experience.
Especially if they are VIA powered.
