Default Keeping session open later use?

I need to take about 2 MB of data (6 jpegs) with me on a CD-R. I
will use my old Nero v5.5 to burn a CD-R.

Seems like a waste of a new CD-R to only store 2 MB. So I was
thinking I might be able to store the 2 MB on a CD-R and close the
session but not to close the CD-R. If I have understood that
correctly I think I should be able to store more data on the CD-R
later.

I want another PC to be certain of reading jpegs I burn to the CD-R.

Is it possible that some PCs made in the last 2 or 3 years can not
read CD-Rs unless the disc is "closed"?

Considering that Orage Book multisession came out in 1995, 2-3 year old
drives should handle not-closed multisession disc.

Yes...multisession CD.

No. Has to be WAY older than that. Anything after 2000 won;t have a
problem. When you get to CDROMs from the mid 90's then you have issues.
BUT a new CDROM drive is pennies and solves the problem.

Isn't this what CD-RW drives and CD's are for?

most here have missed the point

An open Multisession disk, IF it conforms to the 8.3 file naming routine AND
uses joliet format it should work. However there are ALWAYS exceptions. Old
and new ROMS are not really an issue. Its the enviroment in which you use
the disk. In LINUX you will have problems, In DOS you will have problems, In
windows 98 you COULD have problems. All in all a multisession disk is ok for
some things, since most CDRs today are about 13 cents a piece, just burn it
and close it.
