Intel G33 SATA mode

My cousin bought a HP PC based on Intel G33 chipset.

The SATA mode of the chipset by default is IDE and JBOD mode,
and Vi$ta was installed.

Could I just go to the BIOS to reset the mode to SATA II mode
and expect Vi$ta to boot fine?

I'm not quite sure what Vi$ta is, but with Vista, I'd guess your odds
are about 50/50. Try it, there is little harm, you'll just get a
bluescreen if you haven't installed the appropriate drivers first.

It really got a blue-screen. So the AHCI/RAID chipset driver
of G33 is not part of the Intel INF driver? Or was it
not installed because HP used IDE mode to set up the
PC?

The registry change helped. Now the PC is using AHCI mode.
Transfer rate is higher now.
