Default PROBLEM WITH NEW NVIDIA DISPLAY DRIVER

I run Win98SE with Display Adapter "MSI MS-8808 (Nvidia TNT2 M64)". The screen
recently developed a flicker that occurs frequently and seems to be independent
of what program(s) (if any) are running. My local computer shop suggested
downloading the current driver, and I have done that from the NVidia site.
During installation, a message 'Could not delete nvdmcpl.dll -- installation
terminated' appeared. However, it appears the installation did go ahead, and
the Display Adapter is now quoted as NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64/Model 64 Pro.
But the flickering has not stopped.

Whenever I now reboot, there is a message saying 'Error in nvcpl.dll Missing
entry: NvStartup". I tried Windows troubleshooting, but flickering does not
appear as a possible problem. I did change from 'High Color (16 bit)" to "256
Colors", but that has had no effect.

Can anyone suggest a solution to the flickering problem, or what the 2 error
messages mean? Thanks.

No replies so far to my post 29/11/03 as below, but I've solved part of the
problem. The flickering was caused by a faulty screen saver, nothing to do with
the driver! -- we live and learn!

But I'd still really appreciate help with the other 2 error messages mentioned
below. Any takers out there?
