Default GA8IPE1000Pro-G Smartfan - does it work for anyone?

Hi,

I have a GA8IPE1000Pro-G, which is advertised as having SmartFan. The CPU
fan runs full pelt all the time :-(

EasyTune 5 only offers options for controlling the Northbridge fan - which
it doesn't have!

Disabling SmartFan in the BIOS makes the speed go up from 4400rpm to 4520.
The CPU runs at 35C so I'd expect it to be running slooowly.

Has anybody got it to work with this board? I've asked Gigabyte but no
answer has been forthcoming...

Hi Paul,

I Don't think it works on any board. I have the 8KNXP with a 3.0 gHz
PIV Northwood. It's supposed to kick the hi fan in at 42C (according to
Intel)I've watched it with SpeedFan go from 32C to 51C with no change in
the fan speed.
