Default Flashing BIOS: HD not detected anymore!!!

In article , (Jean) wrote:
Did I loose all my files, months and months of work, from my HD?
I have ASUS TX97-X motherboard, WIN98, Pentium I 233MHZ, 128MEG RAM...

I used DRDFLASH.exe that you sent me to prepare the bootable floppy disk.
I flashed the BIOS successfully with 0108X.bin.
After, I did "Setup defaults" in the CMOS.
In CMOS SETUP, TYPE and MODE are AUTO.

1- HD#1
I installed the Fujitsu HD 10,24G.
During BOOT, it sees the HD correctly.
I used FDISK of MS-DOS 6.2.
After partition, in FDISK, it shows 503Mo, which is incorrect.
In CMOS SETUP, I tried to write the default setting which are
CYLS=16383, HEADS=16, SECTORS=63
It shows 8455Mo, which is incorrect.

2- HD#2
I reinstalled the original SEAGATE ST34342A, 4,3G.
During BOOT, it does not see the HD (TYPE and MODE are AUTO) anymore!.
NO HD DETECTED!

For a while, I wanted to use interchangeably both HD.
After, as Master/Slave config...

3- Another strange problem:
To use FDISK, I used an original MS-DOS 6.2 diskette to boot up.
Now, It can not start the computer with this diskette.
This original diskette is corrupted somehow.
I used an MS-DOS 6.2 copy and it is starting ok.

4- I reprogrammed 4 times in a row the BIOS with the original 0107X.bin.
The original SEAGATE ST34342A is not detected!!!
The original MS-DOS 6.2 diskette is still corrupted...

5- Questions:

Why my original SEAGATE ST34342A is not beeing detected anymore with
the original 0107X.bin?
Did I loose all my files within this HD?
Why my original MS-DOS 6.2 diskette is corrupted?
Will I be able to install the Fujitsu HD 10,24G ?

Replace the CMOS battery
