Default XPOST - asus a7n8x deluxe SATA & SATA RAID!

PROBLEMS!

got my 2x new western digital 10k rpm raptor drives today (SATA) and i cant
get them working.

i`m running asus default 1006 bios.
when i do a fresh install, and press F6, it installs the drivers ok, but it
wont see the SATA HDD's.
i cant see any options in the bios to enable or change anything about SATA
(there are no SATA options).
SATA jumper on mobo is enabled (left 2 pins, just below the clear RTC/CMOS
jumper)

there is no option to press CTRL+S or F4 when post (according to manual
there should be)

i`m sure it's something simple. so ideas this way please!
