GA-7NF-RZ + AGP 2.0 1.5v? Compatible?
OK, I'm confused. Can someone please help me?
I've built up a GA-7NF-RZ (budget model, nForce2 400+MCP chipset) with a GeForce2 MX 400 64MB. The manual says first to ensure the AGP card has the 1.5v "notch" and then to "Ensure the card is AGP 4x/8x" I assumed this means 4x or 8x, so I installed my card. On boot, I get no beeps no video no nothing (fans spin, power LED comes on, that's it.) If I boot with the video card removed I get the long-short-short beep which means "video problem." So I can only assume my processor/RAM are running OK. Have also tried erasing CMOS (although this MB has never been booted.) Do I need an AGP 3.0 card exclusively? Or should I get the GeForce 2 tested in another machine? (I'm checking first cos I spent all my money on the current setup and don't really want to spring for AGP 3.0 when I barely ever play games.) Thanks in advance, everyone! |
