Default Lets wait

Lets wait and see how the Athlon 64 performs after a few mother board
manufacturers produce boards and tweak them. I am tired of hearing people
saying they are going to Intel because they are so much better. These same
people better hope AMD doesn't go away or we will all be paying twice as
much for processors.

i personally cant see AMD going away. they`ve always been there, just not as
a very big player uptill the athlon era. somewhat like cyrix, they've never
had limelight in the pc era (atleast since the 486SX/DX era)

they may not win many benchmark results, but maybe thats because most
benchmarks rely on pure mhz's. mhz for mhz however, the AMD abliterate
intel.

but as you say, BF, lets see what comes out in the future before we make
decisions on what to buy.

Hi Guys,
2nd attempt:-) Ta muchly to M$'s oe fondness for sending before completion
if you sneeze or summat.
Anyway it seems AMD is revamping their cpu setup next year anyway with a new
pinout for AMD64, so maybe a bit of a wait will save a good few bucks on a
mobo that will only hack current pinouts etc.. And there aint any cheap ones
from what I've heard:-/ Not to mention that the K8 series are pretty damm
expensive in comparison to the K7's even at low-mid range speeds.

Me, I think I'll get a barton core 2500 and wait it out until
2/qtr 2k4 or maybe 3/qtr 2k4... Then if all the crap has come and gone, mobo
bios's are well outta beta and board quirks/bugs/faults have been ironed out
and the K8
price range is decently priced and supports non registered DDR then it will
be time to make another investment in AMD:-)

Cheers,
RD

Yep, you are right, it is bad enough having MS as a monopoly, it be
worse if we had Intel as well.
Intel and Ms, will take over the world.

I like AMD, I had AMD since my 233 days, had a Cyrix before that.
I will never buy an Intel.
