FX5600 - Ultra or more memory?
Ultra would be the answer to that one.
"Mike B" wrote in message ... I'm after a new card, particularly as Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 is due any day. My budget of £150 ($250) suggests an FX5600. It seems that for roughly the same price I can get either a non-ultra with 256mb or an ultra 128mb. So simple question - which would you recommend I choose? (System is P4 2.8, 512mb, currently with a Geforce4 440MX) Regards, Mike |

The consensus seems to be the 256mb non-ultra performs about the same as the 128mb non-ultra. |

Doing some research myself, my findings suggest going for an ATi card
instead. The prices appear somewhat cheaper and I think the features are more practical at this time. Other than that, the only nVidia card worth going for is a 5900U (if you can afford it), and leave the rest. I too was planning on getting a 5600U, to upgrade from my Radeon 8500, but it's not a smart move. "Mike B" wrote in message ... They got hold of hundreds of them from Germany. |

I'd go for the ultra personally, but for that amount of money look around
for a FX5800 non ultra card. I managed to buy one for 200 dollars. regards B "Granulated" wrote in message ...
