GA-7DPXDW-P setup trouble

I just got a gigabyte GA-7DPXDW-P and I am trying to setup raid 0 to
boot from. I have updated the bios to f5, and I have the 2.00.1020.30
raid drivers.
I am trying to install WinXP I can get through the initial setup fine
(setting up 3rd party drivers and partitioning/selecting where to
install window) but after the first reboot my system locks on the
WinXP loading screen. I also have a hard drive with WinXP already
installed, and was able to boot no problem. That is until I installed
the Raid drivers from the disk that came with the motherboard. Now
that drive will also cause my sys to lock at the windows loading
screen.

anyone else experience this or maybe know what I'm doing wrong?

I have the same board you have and I'm having the same problem during setup
that you are but I'm using Windows 2000 and EIDE rather than RAID.

It looks like no one on this list knows anything about them, or at least
they don't answer our posts.

I just tried something and my machine came up. Maybe this will help you.

I had a MATOX G2+ video card in mine. I swapped that out and put in an
ancient Trident PCI card I had and Windows 2000 Server came right up and
finished the Setup. It's a turkey of a card (16 colors 800x600) but I guess
one doesn't need a particularly great card on a server.

Did you enable the RAID controller in the motherboard BIOS? Did you
setup the RAID-0 array in the RAID controller BIOS? These must be done
before you get to begin installation of WinXP. Your not trying to
install WinXP on the RAID-0 array with the other hard drive with XP
already on it still in the computer are you? You can only have one
installation of XP on the system. One other possibility is that your
RAID controller driver doesn't match the RAID controller BIOS. Some
but not all motherboard BIOS updates also update the BIOS on the RAID
controller, but it looks like you made sure you did get that. Oh one
more thing, whats the motherboard BIOS boot order set to?
