Default Another OK deal - Compusa online is offering the Belkin router wireless AND a laptop wireless belkin card for $20 after rebate the "B" versions

Not the "G" .

Ive got this router and its OK. My final verdict is - my router and
PCI card for my PC is OK though it has a lot of quirks. Ive never
tried the laptop wireless card.

Theres a lot of bashing of the cheaper wireless stuff but if you work
around the quirks its standable.

I dont have the massive problems that others state - totally weak
signal and constant dropping of the connection and slow speeds.

The speeds are quite good on my cable connection through the wireless.
The consistency generally can be decent though some days its erratic.
Might be due to the weather or the conditions in this building. There
are more and more people using wireless in this building.

The main gripe is the installation. Many times there are massive
problems when you install it and it doesnt work at all.

Generally if you choose Setup card through WINDOWS, then itll work.
If you choose EASY or ADVANCED it doesnt. Well it worked once when I
first installed it since then unless I choose let windows set it up -
it only works once in a zillion tries.

When you have windows install the card in WIN XP when you use the
Belkin software , and at least for me it often doesnt work until you
turn the signal off once. In the tray you have the belkin software
icon that opens a box that shows the signal strength etc . You click
Radio on/off - the green light at the bottom corner and turn it off
then on and then it works.
