Default Restore CD

My HD crashed and I lost the restore image.. I have the XP Home Upgrade CD
but it needs to read a prior OS to upgrade. This is for a Presario 7110US..
Will I have to buy a Win 98 CD or does Compaq provide restore CDs?

No, you just need to borrow someone's copy of a pervious Windows. All the
Upgrade disk does it check your cd-drive for a previous version of windows.
Beyond that, the Upgrade disk will function as if it was a retail disk.

BTW call 1800-OKCOMPAQ and order the Quick/ RESTORE CD's for
your model - only usually costs $10. Then pop it in, restore, then upgrade.
