Default 2.5" thin HD on old laptop?

Will the 2.5" new thin HDs fit in traditional Dell
laptops, or are we stuck with yet another
measurement we have to get right?

In my experience...they fit in the tray/caddie and with the SSD's you have to put in some padding...to make-up the difference.

10mm drives will fit in place of 12 or 14mm drives with no problem in
MOST cases. I haven't run across an application where they wouldn't
yet - but with "the dell from hell" anything is possible.

As far as I am concerned, no problem, as long as you use SATA where required and PATA where required.

The only "Dell from hell" is having to do a complete teardown to replace a hard drive in some of the newer Inspiron models... Ben
