2.5" thin HD on old laptop?
Will the 2.5" new thin HDs fit in traditional Dell
laptops, or are we stuck with yet another measurement we have to get right? -- On the internet, nobody knows you're a jerk.

In my experience...they fit in the tray/caddie and with the SSD's you have to put in some padding...to make-up the difference.

I haven't run across an application where they wouldn't yet - but with "the dell from hell" anything is possible.

As far as I am concerned, no problem, as long as you use SATA where required and PATA where required. The only "Dell from hell" is having to do a complete teardown to replace a hard drive in some of the newer Inspiron models... Ben
