Cannot turn printer off, pc reboots
I am having a strange problem. I recently bought this canon i320 printer. My
OS is Windows 2000. I have installed the driver supplied by canon. I can printout with no problem. There are two way to turn off the printer. One is the hardware swith in the printer itself and the other is from printer-properties-maintenance-trun off printer. I have tried both and the same result. Within 4/5 second of turning off the printer, my pc reboots. I have no idea why this is happening. Any input is appreciated. By the way, I have two usb port in my pc and one is connected to a HP usb cd writer. The other is connected to the printer. I have also a digital camera which I connect to the second usb port. And now I remember that whenever I just turn the camera off or disconnect the the camera cable my pc used to reboot. Now I have to go to add/remove device and shut the usb mass storage off and then turn the camera off or disconnect the camera cable. NM |

so its not the printer then its the usb controller?simple diagnosis is to
connect these devices to another machine and see if they force reboots. use the same cables too. -- Ian Lincoln Independent I.T Consultant "NM" wrote in message ... I am having a strange problem.
