that seems ok..
when triing to install winxp pro after copying files pc reboots but gets
stuck at verifyin dmi pool...
does anyone have an idea of what might be wrong?

Hello,

It should boot from hard-drive after copying files. If you have recently
installed new hardware, or flashed the bios with new code then most of
the time it is suggested (by Gigabyte I think) that you clear the cmos
information, which at the same time clears DMI information.

Long story short Clearing your cmos will clear the DMI information and
allow it to update from a fresh state.

Now on the 8ik, you'll have to power off the system and unplug it from
the power source. After this, just remove the cmos battery on the
motherboard (it's held in by a small metal clip). Then put the battery
back in place and power up. You'll need to configure your bios settings
again *before you start installation of WinXP*.

I give explantion only because I'm not sure if you know how to clear
cmos, but who rtfm's anyway it's a cliché.

Check this@@
Go into the BIOS and find the Boot Disk Priority or Boot disk order setting
(Mines in the Hard disk section) it list the various possible boot devices
....check that the one you want to use(probebly the disk where u have drive
C) is first on the list.
I went though hell with this resetting itself in such a way that it wouldnt
boot after making a tempory change with my drives.

It may be that doing a 'clear BIOS' would set this ok to.

Allso try disconnecting all drives except your boot drive.
