You might ask yourself why nvidia has to reduce their price to that
level.

To compete, all ATI has to do is change a number in their computer. And
if 9800 sales start dropping off then they will.

I just saw an ad for a PNY FX5900 400/850 for $187. ATI has nothing to
compete with this. Even the 9600XT costs more than that and the 5900 kicks
the $#!+ out of it.

What's the link? Vendors can be deceptive with their ads.
Might actually be a 5900XT version.

Hmmm... please post the link or a copy of the advert.

I think it's more likely that you're a little insecure in your own
little fanboy world, and that you're caking yourself that your
uber-fave video card manufacturer don't seem to be able to play catch up
with the Canadians.

Maybe I am a little bit a of fanboy. Maybe I just like to see the underdog
fight back. For sure I am a former NVDA stock holder who has made a bundle
with them. I really like the stabilty of the AMD/ Nforce/Geforce
combination. I'm hesitant to load an ATI driver on any of my rigs.
