yes, it is to be released 'soon' and will be distributed as a critical
update that asks the user about installing it or not... like was the case
with the ie7 release. and like with ie7, the automatic update can be
blocked completely with the tool.

yes. Like the IE7 blocker tool it prevents installation through automatic MS
updates. You can always install IE8 manually if you decide to use it, but
atleast you won't get it forced on you since it might be difficult to
uninstall it.

And, of course, like its predecessors, IE8 blocks none of the spyware,
malware, and viruses from coming into your computer, right?

The only good thing about IE is that it's getting more and more people
to use Firefox.
