modem to soundcard.

I have an IBM 33l4582 V90 PCI modem I would like to connect to the
phone/modem input on the sound on my motherobard, to hear connect
progress in the computer speakers, reather than the small tinny modem
speaker. How do I do it? It has no connecotrs apparent for the
function.

I would glue a small mic capsule to that small piezo modem speaker &
than connected it to the audio cards input somewhere (for example to
the Aux input of it for CD-rom or so...)
.... just an idea for innovation ... :-)
