Hibernate/Standby If I connect Lan Cable
Hi All,
I just bought a new Apple AirPort Express Router. As soon as I connect this Router to my PC, my PC goes to sleep (after 2 sec; Power led is flashing). (no matter if it's in Windows or before boot up or in Linux) I've tried these things already: - Use different RJ45 Cables - Use Router with different machines (no problem) - Go to BIOS and setup S1 and S3 flags with different combinations (no change) My PC: Inter P4 2.4Ghz, ASUS Motherboard PC800-E, Vista, Latest BOIS on it. Any Idea? Thanks in advance, Homer |

Any Idea? Thanks in advance, Homer Is your Apple device, the one on the left here ? That one has a single Ethernet port on it, to connect to an ADSL or cable modem. http://www.apple.com/wifi/ The P4C800-E Deluxe is a 875P Northbridge motherboard (S478), with an Intel 82547EI Gigabit capable Ethernet chip connected via CSA bus. There is the usual transformer isolation between the Ethernet port and the chip. "Intel Pro/1000 CT" shows a complicated set of options in its properties, but nothing to suggest the Ethernet chip can cause the system to suspend to RAM (standby). I don't see a particular reason for such a behavior. I'm typing this message on a P4C800-E Deluxe, and haven't had a bit of trouble with it. Does plugging the P4C800-E to other Ethernet devices set it off ? Paul No. It's connected now to a WRT54G Linksys Rounter and works fine. Problem occurs only with Apple Router . |
