MMC81.msi always installs on computer start

I have an All-In-Wonder Radeon 7500 and this program always installs
when I start up the computer. Although it's annoying, when if finishes
the install, the TV application launches and it's on the last watched
channel and all the settings are as they were before.

I searched the startup files for the installer (using TweakUI), but
never found it... It's like it's re-detecting the hardware each time
the PC boots up, but I couldn't find a logical reason. It's a WinXP
system, and works just fine after the TV is started (ie, capture,
keyboard shortcuts, etc.), but I couldn't find anything that would
cause it within that ATI settings.

Any ideas how to resolve this so the TV just launches on startup
without the installer?

I had the same problem. You have a missing component for the program
to start up properely. The fix is fairly simple. Do a cold boot with
the Windows Multimedia 8.1 Software disc in the CD drive. It will
find the required component and install it once and for all. Next
time you start, it should not try to install it again. This worked
good for me.
