Need help with XP

I have a HP 2800+ with a Athlon in it. I fdisked and reformatted the
drive to get rid of all the extra crud that HP put on it. After
reformatting I installed XP Pro and it seemed to go in well. It was
fully functional until I tried to access the internet and found that
the drivers for the nic card had not been loaded and that none of thhe
drivers needed for the items in the "other" folder in Device Manager
had been loaded either. I went through the normal find drivers
routine but no luck there. I need help with this. Any elp that you
could give would be kindly taken.

Have you tried the HP web site?? They are not often easy to find, but
they do have drivers there.

This is a common mistake people make when re-formatting e.g not saving
or knowing their devices.Not always the user's fault especially with
Proprietary machines.
Use AIDA32 to get all the info you need and then go to the device
maker's sites rather than the System Makers site.

If you have a CDR/W disk burn them for future use once you have
validated that they are the correct ones after installation.

Have you explored the Restore Disk that typically comes with HP
systems?

Utilizing the computer with which you posted this newsgroup, item,
access the HP website, and download NIC drivers for your computer.
There... Problem all solved. Now go have a cookie...
