Default Problem with Asus FX 5600 in Dell Dimension 8100 Questions

Hello , I've recently bought an ASUS 9560 FX 5600 videocard to build
into my 3 yrs old Dell Dimension 8100 (Dell Motherboard with P4 1.3
GHz ) and 330W Dell power supply. In this computer the card is as dead
as a doornail. Not even the cooler on the card does anything.
In another slightly more recent computer with an ASUS A7V333-X
motherboard and an Enermax 350Watts PS the card functions OK.

I have two questions: Could the problem be caused by the Dell
motherboard? Are there conflicts between the FX5600 and the Dell
hardware?

Is the Dell power supply insufficient and if so what should I do to
correct it. (is there a heavier Dell PS for the Dell Dimension 8100?)

Thanks in advance for your reply.

its got to be that crappy dell PSU, see if they can upgrade your PSU, or if
you can replace dell's PSU with a stor bought PSU
