Advice Needed Compaq XP3000 or Dell P4-2.66?
There's a couple of pretty good PC deals being offered by HP & Dell
right now. Dell has a Dimension 2400 Desktop P4-2.4Ghz Free 256MB/80GB, XP Home $599 - $200 rebate = $399. The upgrade to P4 2.66 is only $30. The downside is a 533Mhz FSB. HP has a Compaq Presario S6000Z Desktop - AMD XP 2400+ (upgrade to XP 3000+, for $50, Free 256MB/40GB, XP Home $409 - $50 rebate = $359, free shipping). I know memory & video card upgrade would be needed on either system, but any advice on which PC would offer the best performance for gaming?
