"If you’re still using a computer with a SATA hard drive, you can see a
huge performance increase by switching to an SSD. What’s more, the cost
of SSDs has dropped dramatically over the course of the past couple of
years, so it’s less expensive than ever to do this sort of upgrade."

So, where can we buy a few TB of SSDs for cheap like HDDs? :P

While prices have come down on SSDs, they are still far from
equivalently priced and nowhere near to the per-byte price of HDDs.
Lower priced doesn't mean cheap. Bugati could reduce the price of their
Veyron Super Sport ($2,644,306) by 95% but I still couldn't afford the
$132K for that car.

SSDs are still a lot more expensive than HDDs. Perhaps not a huge
life-changing impact on the pocketbook for a single SSD purchase for one
person to upgrade or configure their one computer, but data centers
still find SSDs are too expensive with no advantage regarding capacity.

Samsung 860 EVO 1TB SSD: $240 ($168 on sale) - 24 cent/GB (14 cents/GB)

WDC 1TB HDD blue: $70 ($45 on sale) - 7 cents/GB (5 cents/GB)
WDC 1TB HDD black: $100 ($75 on sale) - 10 cents/GB (8 cents/GB)

The "diff" is SSDs are still a *lot* more expensive per byte than HDDs.
