Windows Install/Setupdds.sys/Page error
I'm installing an operating system on my girlfriends brand new system.
Every time I get to the step where you format the drive I hit enter to format and I get a STOP error, 0x000000BE. I looked it up, This is a bad ram error stereotypically. So I Ran memtest 32 on it and the ram checks out fine. However, now I'm at a loss for whats the matter with the install. Any help is appriciated. Thanks. |

Don't forget that your hard drive has RAM on it. That RAM (the hard drive cache) wouldn't be tested by memtest (whatever). Also keep in mind that a failing power supply can mimic bad ram. -Dave |

Pity that the hard drive cache cant produce a STOP error, 0x000000BE Also keep in mind that a failing power supply can mimic bad ram. Pathetic, really. |

Can be a number of things, bad caps on the motherboard, lot of ripple on the power supply. You've just got to try the possibilitys systematically. Will it run a knoppix live CD ? |
