This is an excellent and very active newsgroup if you happen to own a Dell.

Does anyone know if there is a similar NG for PC Clones in general? For
general PC hardware/software Q 'n A for those that do not own a Dell? I own
an aging Dell and plan on upgrading in the near future but my parents and
wife's parents own other brands (HP and Velocity Micro).

Try alt.sys.pc-clone (I've never been there... I just know it exists!).

Try alt.sys.pc-clone (I've never been there... I just know it exists!).

alt.computer.hardware is pretty good. alt.computer somewhat less active.
There are several homebuilt groups also.

For HP there's comp.sys.hp.misc, but it's not very active.
Also alt.sys.pc-clone.compaq.
