I have a canon 3550 that only prints portrait and not landscape.
I reinstalled the drivers on the print server and sill same error.

Default Canon 3550

My d*mn news client just lost my reply to you. So much for the great
improvement with Thunderbird.

OK, the much shortened version of my reply:

Printer drivers, especially in a print server situation may have
numerous layers of hierarchy when it comes to things like paper
orientation, and some layers may trump others.

You need to look at all aspects from the application you are printing
from, to the base driver to the print server driver and make sure the
paper orientation is set in all of them the same. Since the default is
probably set to portrait, any set to default may block the change.

On some printers/drivers specific trays must be used for a certain paper
orientation, so make sure you have the correct drivers installed.
