Default Adding CDR-W - - - System Hangs

I am adding a CDR-W drive to my Windows XP system. I have them hooked
together with the flat cable. My understanding is that the "middle"
connection goes to the Slave drive. The end connection goes to the
"main" drive.

When I turn the computer back on, it hangs and won't boot up.

Any ideas? How, exactly, should the jumpers be set?

Please feel free to post here or e-mail me directly at
.

Thanks for any assistance.
