Default questions about the old thunderbird 1ghz

I've been running my Abit KT7-Raid since 2000 with a Duron 600 =
overclocked to 1GHz. It's been running fine all these years. The VIA =
hardware monitor software show the temperature to be about 55 celcius =
during the day and drops some at night. I bought a used Thunderbird =
1GHz and would like to overclock it. I installed it with default, =
locked settings just to see how it runs. I thought since 1gig was =
native that the temperature would run cooler like in the 40's or so but =
it's right up there with the Duron at 55C and I don't really notice any =
performance gain. Not sure if it could be overclocked with that temp. =
Anybody else running these older chips yet and what experiences have you =
had with overclocking the Thunderbird? Thanks

With a good cooler I had my 1gig unlocked tbird over 1400MHz. Unlock it,
set User defined, 13and over. Boots at 1300MHz. raise FSB some of you want
more.
