Hi,

Anybody who has the DA-01W Maxi tower? If so, could you please help me
out with following questions. I would really appreciate it. Thanks in
advance!! Here they a

I haven't got this exact model - I've got the Chieftec Scorpio Maxi Tower,
but it's the same except for the front panel, which is a different design.

1/ Does the DA-01W Maxi Tower have any airholes in the sidepanels?!
If I look at a big picture of this case over he
http://www.chieftec.de/images/big/DA-01W.jpg I get the impression that
there is a vertical stripe of airholes in the sidepanel close the
front or isn't that so? What are those stripes in the sidepanel that
you can see on the picture??

Those aren't stripes - they are lines of holes - and yes, they provide
airflow. The amount of holes goes from very few close to the top, to quite
a few near the bottom.

2/ all the dragon cases seem to have a grill with grooves in the
bottom half of the front panel. Is that just decoration or does
actual air (and noise) goes thru those grooves. If so, does the noise
go out in a straight path thru those grooves or does it go out with
an angle or something?

I assume that the inside of the Dragon tower is the same as mine, and then
it's got fan mounts in front of the harddisk bays - which is situated
right behind those grooves. So yes, you can place fans there, but you
don't have to.

3/ is there a bracket to install harddisks above the PSU. Actually, is
there any room above the PSU or have they placed it completely against
the top of the case. If there would be any room above the PSU, have
they made airholes (and perhaps the possibiltiy for an outtake fan)
there in the back of the case above the PSU for air to go out or not?!

There is no bracket above tha PSU, at least not in the Scorpio - the PSU
is placed away from the top, not close to it. There is room for a fan
above the PSU. There is also mounts for fans at the back of the tower.

It's just a matter of style. You can't fake it!

Thanks again for the info!

I have the OEM version of that case (actually 2 of them). IIRC, they are all
made by the same manufacturer.

Those are ventilation holes you see on the side, and are on both side
panels. As for the grille, there are large holes for ventilation inside the
case (they are not decoration; quite a bit of air goes through those vents).

As for fans, there is room for 6 fans (3 - 80mm on the front (1 for each HD
cage, and 1 on the bottom); 2 - 80mm below the PS, and 1 - 92mm above the
PS).
