Sound pops
All was fine until I put a new Gforce FX5500 in my machine. Now when I
load a game that uses hardware accelaration I get poppin noises. The sound is a Cmedia ac97 onboard I have tried all the new drivers. Suggestions please |

Maybe get a new sound card. "Creative" is the best and is game friendly.

On my PC the sound codec has IRQ 17 all to itself. I get no pops at all. Run msinfo32.exe; see what you can find. In Control Panel-- Sounds & Audio Devices-- Sound playback (Advanced)-- Performance, I have hardware acceleration and sample rate conversion quality set to max. Tony. |
