Power for 8500 laptop and Canon i70 Bubble Jet when travellingto UK?

I just purchased an Dell 8500 laptop for my daughter, about a week ago, and she just found out she is now going to spend spring semester in London. What do I need to do to allow the power to work in the UK? Is it as simple as obtaining a UK terminal adapter, and switching a switch on the Dell power cube to 250 V? Or do I need to purchase a separate UK-comaptible power cube? Anyone with any experience? Also purchased the Canon i70 Bubble Jet through Dell as well. Do I need a special power cube for that as well. any reply here or at my email address: raelelectricrazr at iwon.com would be appreciated. Rael I think that the Dell I8500 is simple (based on the Dell I8200, which I have), the power supply is "Universal" & is good for both the UK & the USA as you should find that it states it will work 100-240V ac & 50-60Hz (UK is 240Vac 50Hz). You just need a power plug adapter. However double-check the power supply for the Canon Printer!! I don't know this particular Canon, but was surprised when I bought a portable Canon Printer & discovered it had a Country-Specific Power Supply. HTH Regards, John |
