I am a level 3 broadband tech for TWC, Apparently you don't know how easy it is to get a new IP and
once I do you will never know who I am or was. Besides what are you going to do pull up the trace
route for every post you read? Sounds pretty tedious to me.

You made yourself look bad, because you were convinced you were right and
everyone else was wrong. Wanna post those quotes of yours too? Why don't
you stop being a jackass and be thankful we (me) managed to save you from
wasting $300.
The Gainward cards are not THAT mislabeled, at least they shouldn't be for a
3rd level tech support guru like you! They call them Ultras because they
OC, have a different cooler, and dual DVI out.

Well here they a

1st post
"Pricewatch lists the ultra cheaper than the GT" posting this in the
hopes someone will actually
go look and tell me why this is. All is get is guff about how pricewatch
is a scam, when I know it
is not a scam but a great tool as long as you check out the company before
you buy.

2nd post (the one he denies I made)
"GameVE has the Ultra listed for $293, where can I get GT cheaper?

Because the cheapest GT I can find is at Ajump for $345"

and all I get is someone telling me "that's irrelevant" when there is a
Ultra clearly listed for
less than the GT. And it all goes downhill from there. If your not going
to be helpful you should'nt
bother to post. Simply denying what I was clearly seeing is not going to
satisfy me that I "should
get a GT" without question. So I figured if I troll a bit I might get a
logical response. I really
don't care if I offend the people who were not helping me anyway.

Only later, much later, do I find out Gainward has unscrupulously listed
ALL their cards as Ultras.
This is clearly a ploy to sell cards to people who think they are actually
getting a ultra when all
they are getting is screwed. No I didn't go to the gainward site but only
because I would never in
my wildest dreams believe that a company I once had respect for would
attempt to take advantage of
people that way.

You gotta admit, the naming convention there is somewhat misleading...
especially if someone who didnt know was shopping at a different site
and all the site offered was the GeForce 6800 Ultra/2100

If i saw that on Newegg i'm sure i would expect it to be too good to be
true, but makes me wonder how many people have been duped??

I did make myself look bad but It was somewhat intentional. I was trolling at that point. I meant to
step on toes because people were leading me in circles. I apologize to the people who helped me the
others can go back to sniffing their paint. I don't plan to spend more time here than necessary so
no need to make friends.

A big thanks to those who helped me. Guess that would be you Kil lBill.

OK, let's go thru this one more time.
There are, currently only 6 levels of 6800
6800 LE - 128MB 4 Pixel Shaders, 8 Pipes, 128-bit, pretty much a 6600 GT,
only clocked a bit higher
6800 - 128 MB 5 Pixel Shaders, 12 Pipes, all this level and above are
256-bit
6800 - 256 MB same as above
6800 GT - 256 MB, 6 Pixel Shaders, 16 Pipes
6800 Ultra - 256 MB, 6 Pixel Shaders, 16 Pipes Faster than the GT
6800 Ultra Extreme - 256 - 512 MB, 6 Pixel Shaders, 16 Pipes, even faster
than the Ultra (nVidia has not officially released this card yet, and many
are wondering if they will before the Fall or Spring refresh - 6850 or
6900.)

Hope this helps. Make sure you pay attention when getting your card. On
top of this, everything from the GT up is SLI capable, if you get the PCI-E
version, that is.

You have to also consider which type of card you are talking about,
128MB or 256MB
because you will find that a 256MB GT is costlier than a 128MB Ultra.

Thank you,

I bought a GT and overclocked it to Ultra speeds. very easy to

with
forceware cool bits.

Save the hundred US dollars and get the GT and just over clock

it.

I've got a BFG Geforce GT OC

after you install your driver for the card, you need to find and
download Forceware Coolbits. Just do a google search, you WILL

find
it
easily. The card is stable. I've seen no graphically errors or
artifacts, and not crashing at all. I'm using the stock cooling

and
fan. The card has a temp cutoff at 120 degrees built in. From

what
i've
seen on the 3dmarks website it looks to me that plenty of people

are
overclocking all brands of this card.
