Default Plasma DVI Argh

I'm currently trying to set up a PC with my Plasma Screen (Samsung
42inch).via DVI but not having much luck.

Video Cards tried a Geforce 4 Ti4200 and GeForce FX 5900XT
I have a regular monitor connected to the VGA slot (which works fine) and
and trying to Clone the display on my Plasma via a DVI connection. I've
purchased 3 different types of DVI wire (all of which fit snugly into the
nVidia Cards at one end and the Plasma at the other) but I just get a blank
screen.

I can get a picture on the Plasma via Svideo but it's soo blurry it's
untrue.

Any suggestions for DVI welcome!!

PC Stats (if useful):

ASUS V7880
AMD Sempron 2600+
1GB Ram
Nvidia Cards (as above)
Win XP Home

Thanks

RJ

I had a problem with my 37" LCD when I first set it up. First, get it
working as you only monitor. Then worry about clone.

What had happened was that I chose 60hz, but when I went into the detailed
information, the driver was actually using 59.94. Just enough to be a
problem. Change it there to 60 and all was well.

Ok, will have a go. I figured it'd be easier to set up a clone so I could a
least see an image on the other screen when trying to change settings
though!

Er, why not buy a 7900GT AGP and use the proper digital DVI
connection instead of this analog futzing about ? Much better visual
quality. ~$100 or less for the card.

Small peanuts compared to the cost of your plasma display and
much better graphics performance than your 2 ancient video
cards. Fully compatible with DX9.0c and SM3.0 too.

BTW, your problem may be as simple as setting your plasma display
to analog-input mode on the DVI connector, if it has such a setting.
Not at all familiar with the Samsung --- the plasma-display DVI input
might be digital-only (and missing the analog pins) ???
