Voracious Microsoft wants $450 for Vista
"Rich" wrote in message ... http://www.physorg.com/news68303558.html Complete nonsense! Microsoft has already announced (officially) that pricing on Vista consumer versions will be on par with Windows XP. The $450 price is I believe for the VLK package. Again, Vista at retail will *NOT* repeat *NOT* cost $450. Bobby |

Microsoft has already announced (officially) that pricing on Vista consumer
versions will be on par with Windows XP. Actually the price for XP is already outrageous as well, so I'm not sure that matters much :-). |

Even scarier is the fact that Microsoft is entertaining the idea of offering the OS on a subscription basis! Bobby |

The OP article was not about the OEM version. quoteUsers will no doubt want a high degree of protection for Vista, which tech media is reporting will retail for a hefty $450 once released to the public/quote. Note the words 'RETAIL' and 'released to the PUBLIC'. The OEM version might be $140 (still way too expensive for what it is!) but it looks like the retail version could be $450 (which is just highway robbery without a mask). |
