versions will be on par with Windows XP.

The $450 price is I believe for the VLK package.

Again, Vista at retail will *NOT* repeat *NOT* cost $450.

Even scarier is the fact that Microsoft is entertaining the idea of offering
the OS on a subscription basis!

version of XP Pro I would pay around $475 - $525 ... :P

Note the words 'RETAIL' and 'released to the PUBLIC'. The OEM version
might be $140 (still way too expensive for what it is!) but it looks
like the retail version could be $450 (which is just highway robbery
without a mask).
