Microsoft has already announced (officially) that pricing on Vista consumer
versions will be on par with Windows XP.

The $450 price is I believe for the VLK package.

Again, Vista at retail will *NOT* repeat *NOT* cost $450.

Microsoft has already announced (officially) that pricing on Vista consumer
versions will be on par with Windows XP.


Actually the price for XP is already outrageous as well, so I'm not sure
that matters much :-).

Even scarier is the fact that Microsoft is entertaining the idea of offering
the OS on a subscription basis!
