problems in ugrade ga-7vax + athlon xp 2600
I recenlty upgrated the xp2000+ to xp2600 (333fsb) and added 2 kingston 256 (333mhz) dimms to the already 1 256mb (333) seitec dimm, total 768mb. I also upgrated the bios ver to F13. I have made all the necessary adjustments to the sw1(166 fsb) and cock multiplier (auto), so in the system info (windows xp) I see athlon xp 2600 2.09Mhz 768 mb ram. Everything seems to work fine, but in the first 30-60min the system randomly reboots… Can you help me on this I am desperate… I try to see in there is a latency memory problem , so removed the 1 seitec dimm and currently working with 512 kingston’s dimms (so far so good I hope I manage to post before the reboot :-) !!! ). Can you think anything else, maybe something in the bios settings ( has the dual bios to do anything with that?) ? If I get a 512mb dimm Kingston would I have the same problem? Please help me… I have noticed that didn’t have any problem using the same 3 dimms (2kingston+1seitec) with the previous configuration athlon xp2000(266fsb)+ga-7vax mb. Everything started when placed the xp2600 and upgrated the bios and changed to fsb333 (166 on mb sw1). Can you tell if the problem is due to this, probably the m/b is set to work better at 266fsb… Thank you again and sorry for the many questions. -- gregpap |
