Default Can't read from Maxtor Ext HD with 5200 card installed!

I decided to upgrade my vprMatrix 4100 32mb GeForce mx200 with the PNY
Ge Force FX 5200 128mb. Seems to work fine except I cannot read from
my 250gb Maxtor 5000XT external (usb) hard drive, which I use for
additional storage. Windows XP hangs on the Welcome screen for a very
long time and when I try to read from the Maxtor I get an i/o error.
If I unplug it, Windows boots fine.

If I can't get the Maxtor to work, I'll take the card back.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.
