Default Phenom 2 955BE 4 core?

Apologies, voltage was at around 1.42v. 1.35v is the default.

I went into the BIOS and increased the multiplier to 20 and increased the
voltage to I think something like 1.35v. System is very stable.

Thanks for the replies. Task Manager also sees just two.

I will consider a re-install at a later date.

If Windows 7 is re-installed with the overclocked CPU, will it see the 4
cores?

I still don't think, that you will get the result you like with a
reinstall.
Have you read the manual of the CPU and the mother-board about
overclocking?

What did you use to overclock the CPU?
What BIOS setting has been changed?

Hello everyone.
Thanks for the replies.
I have run CPUZ 1.54 64 bit and it says that the processor is running 2
cores and 2 threads. I thought that this was meant to be a 4 core CPU?

Hope you're still following this thread: There is no need for a
reinstall!! Follow the directions he

The identical thing happened to me after putting in a new mobo+955BE without
reinstalling W7. It's a nasty bug that you don't notice until you happen to
look at task manager and get curious. I may have to do this again after
replacing the X4 with the X6, not sure yet.

I did a re-install and all was fine afterwards. I'll bookmark the page you
referred to for later.

Thanks for the reply and this might get fixed in W7 SP1??
