Default problem with mobo.

i setup a amd motherboard with an long amd cpu
(athlon x2 64)

after installing into the box and connecting all the cables etc.)

i turn the power supply switch on.
within a couples seconds, the cpu fan is running. bios appears on the
screen.
(i did not turn the power switch.)

it will not go anyfarther than the bios screen.
can not go into the bios setup. but the ctr+alt+del works.

any ideas what the problem maybe.
is it the power supply that needs replacing.

Hi, Ken.

Could you clarify these two statements:

i turn the power supply switch on.

...
(i did not turn the power switch.)

I'm confused! ;^{
