Which Via k8t800 mobo
I have gigabyte k8ns ultra 939 nforce 3 board, updated a month
ago to xfx 6800 and notice the stuttering/pause that later I realized alot of people have, figure this out after a system rebuild and still saw the problem so start investigating. The best fix seems to be go with a via k8t800 pro chipset. Which k8t800 pro motherboards are you guys useing, I have been looking at the Abit a8v and the asus av8 mobos just waint to know you guys thoughts. I will be using 2 sata 80 gig 7200 rpm drives in raid 0 2 gigs that is 4 time 512 sticks of Corsair Value Select 3200 ddr Sound Blaster Live XFX 6800 |

Have you tried this?
http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?s...&hl=stuttering Also, if your BIOS has the option to adjust PCI latency, play around with it. If nothing works... Running a Soltek K8TPro-939 myself. Rock stable so far with 2x 512 MB Corsair Value Select DDR400, a Radeon 9800Pro (415/733) and SBLive! 5.1. It supports SATA RAID with both the VIA southbridge and a Promise PDC20579: http://www.soltek.de/soltek/product/...=SL-K8TPro-939 Oh, and AGP8x causes BF2 to freeze, though it comes and goes with Catalyst driver changes (VIA quirk). Bought it because it was the cheapest S939 M/B ($108 CAD) at NCIX. I wouldn't advise spending too much money on an AGP M/B at this time. The "Value" RAM won't overclock far anyway. -- "War is the continuation of politics by other means. There´´s currently a mobo from Asrock(currently only on a cyrillic site). There´s full AGP8x and PCI-E support. |
